📝 Ingredients:
✅ Grains Polenta Zhmenka (450g) >>
✅ 1L water
✅ 1 tsp salt
✅ 100g butter
✅ 150g feta cheese or Romanian "brânză de burduf"
✅ 150g sour cream
✅ Pork Canned with Cabbage (Scandia 400g)>> (or grilled sausages>> for variation)
👨🍳 Instructions:
1️⃣ Boil the water – Bring 1L of water to a boil in a large pot, then add salt.
2️⃣ Add polenta gradually – Slowly pour in Grains Polenta Zhmenka, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon to prevent lumps.
3️⃣ Cook until thick – Lower the heat and stir for 15-20 minutes, until the mixture thickens and starts pulling away from the sides of the pot.
4️⃣ Shape the mămăligă – Transfer onto a wooden board or plate. Traditionally, mămăligă is shaped into a firm, mold-like dome (as seen in the image).
5️⃣ Serve with toppings – Sprinkle with crumbled cheese, add a generous scoop of sour cream, and serve alongside canned pork with cabbage.
🍷 Pair it with a glass of Feteasca Cotnari Dry for an authentic Romanian experience!
